Owner John King of JK Welding, a full service welding company which offers custom fabrication, welding and metal repair, discusses the advancement of his career in industry from sweeping shop floors to owning his own business.

John began his welding career through hands-on learning at welding shops by asking for advice from experienced welders and then applying that knowledge when welding projects for friends. He began JK Welding in 2003 to support his hobbies while still working full-time, and it has since grown to complete large projects such as the rebuild of Kemah Boardwalk in 2008 following Hurricane Ike, and the “Singing Ringing Tree” now located in Manor, Texas, which weighs more than 50,000 pounds.
